Profile: Gilbert Pasquale, Impossible Foods, MBA '22
I am a technology and operations nerd who discovered my passion for food industry sustainability during my time at Ross.
My career started at Accenture in Washington, D.C. In my time as an operations consultant, I managed digital transformations for intricate supply chains, developed analytics capabilities within multi-national organizations, and led workforce redesigns. After six years, I decided to pursue my MBA at Michigan and joined the Full-Time MBA class of '22.
At Ross, I delved into operations coursework through the Tauber Institute and gravitated towards the intersection of business and sustainability, both in and out of the classroom. My MAP project redesigned the online inventory process for Amazon's nascent grocery business, Amazon Fresh. Then in the summer of '21, I interned with Beyond Meat in their East Coast production facility. I enhanced Beyond's ability to track production metrics and tackled the most significant problems hindering the plant's manufacturing process. By the end of the summer, I had fallen in love with food and beverage--and specifically, the idea that I can accelerate the industry's evolution to feed the growing population in a sustainable manner.
During the second year of my MBA, I re-recruited and accepted an offer with Impossible Foods' Customer Operations team out of Chicago. My first year at Impossible has been exciting and challenging. I enjoy working with our grocery and QSR customers to better serve their needs and increase our gross margin. We are constantly debuting new products, producing and fulfilling more pounds, and taking steps from start-up to an established player in the meat category. I've been able to accomplish a lot including optimizing how we fill product into our trucks, automating our order processing system leveraging SAP, and rethinking our dashboard and KPI tracking methodologies.
Outside of work, I'm a huge soccer fan and am always optimistic about Arsenal Football Club. I'm also an avid hiker and still getting used to Chicago's lack of elevation.
I was excited to join this network in my time at Ross and look forward to connecting with many of you! Please feel free to reach out or connect with me on LinkedIn.
