Profile: Alex Tarantino, General Mills, MBA '16
I'm an Associate Marketing Manager in General Mills' Big G Cereal division. My current focus is on strategic growth channels in Club (Costco, Sam's Club) and Small Format (Dollar General, Walgreens). I'm responsible for ensuring that both core and new products are on shelf in non-traditional retail locations and seeking out opportunities to partner with the retailers who are growing the fastest.
Given the speed with which opportunities arise and disappear, my role is heavily dependent on maintaining relationships with buyers as well as my sales force. Because of this, I've learned quite a bit about the path that consumer packaged foods take from manufacturing facilities to pantries and the ways in which we can eliminate unnecessary waste in packaging and logistics. It's this aspect of the job that has truly sparked my interest and driven me to look for eco-friendly alternatives to our status quo operations. Learn more about Alex's background.
